Building a Great Strategy

This sounds like an extremely easy game to play, but it is important to understand that your success on the table is dependent upon creating good strategies that can help you to be a winner. This is true of any video type game you will play, so I wanted to spend a little time providing you with some strategies that can help you to be more successful.

Obviously, the most important strategy you can build from is to hold as many deuces as possible. This means that unless you have an outstanding set of cards dealt to you initially, you should be prepared to discard as many as four of those in your hopes of getting more deuces.

I will tell you honestly that most of the strategies you would use in standard poker go out the window. Let me give you an example. If you were dealt four to a straight flush which includes two deuces, the commonsense thing to do is to discard all the rest of the cards and just keep the deuces. That may sound crazy to you, but keep in mind that getting a straight only earns you two coins. That is not much of a return.

Instead, you want to go for the bigger return. Should you draw a pair of fives, you now have four of a kind. That earns you four coins. Not a sizable difference, but still an increase on your return. You may even find that you draw three of the same cards or that you get a 10, J, and an A, and now you have a Royal Flush. It’s definitely worth changing your strategies.

There are a few other strategies I want to teach you about. If you draw four cards toward a straight and your additional card gives you a pair, it makes sense to keep the pair and discard the other three. Your straight only earns you two coins. It is true that if you got one additional card for your pair that you would only get one coin for earning a three of a kind. However, you’re playing for the big win, which means that that pair could turn into four or even five of a kind. Now, instead of winning two coins, you are winning four or maybe even 15.

One strategy I personally always employ is that if I draw two pair, I always keep one and discard the other. I know that sounds kind of crazy because you are closing in on a Full House, but that is only three coins. That isn’t much of a return. Instead, you’re looking for the four of a kind or even the five of a kind.

The Payback Percentage

I want to tell you about one more thing regarding strategy. This is regarding the payback percentage. This term refers to an estimation of how likely you are to get a return on the money you wager in comparison to the amount of time you spend at the table.

Now consider that these casinos are in business to give you as little return as possible. It’s how they make money.
